Not only because their participation benefits the children but also because it benefits the dads.
In a report titled “Fathers’ Participation in the Care and Development of Their Children: The Role of Pediatricians,” researchers examined fresh research from the previous ten years that examined the trends, causes, and effects of fathers’ parental involvement. The report found that dads still encounter social and professional barriers that are based on outdated stereotypes, even though dads’ roles in their children’s lives are greater than ever before — the 2008 recession may have encouraged more men to embrace the role of SAHD — and that pediatricians can do more to include dads and promote their involvement from birth.
Paid Parental Leave for Dads Stigma
Another reason for dads’ growing involvement is that more businesses now understand the necessity for family leave benefits for them, but according to the study, we still have a long way to go. Regarding paid parental leave for fathers, there is still much stigma.
