After seeing the British royal family’s Christmas card, a lot of people were quite confused by Prince Louis’ “missing finger.” In the photo, the youngest child of William and Kate seems to have lost a finger on his left hand, which is resting on the chair. Is it just an illusion or a Photoshop failure?
The Royal Family’s Unusual Christmas Card
When you first take a look at the royal family’s Christmas card, everything seems perfect. We see William and Kate wrapping their arms around Prince George and Prince Louis, and Princess Charlotte is sat in the middle, beautiful as always.
The entire family is wearing white shirts and dark pants and seems very happy. However, the most discussed topic about Yorkshire photographer Josh Shinner’s photograph was Prince Louis’ missing finger. People on social media were especially vocal about it after Shinner’s post on social media.
The Photographer’s Comment on the Photo
Josh Shinner was so excited to capture the royal family that he even created a rough sketch of the Christmas photo and posted it online. He also shared that working with the royals was one of the most enjoyable and relaxed experiences of his career. He also jokingly mentioned the whole new set of jokes he now has thanks to the children but decided to keep it to himself.
Even though he didn’t address the confusion, people started commenting on not only the “missing finger” situation but also how Prince William’s legs were edited and missing from behind Charlotte’s chair. One user said that Prince Louis was simply holding the arm of the chair and that’s why people weren’t able to see his finger. Prince William’s legs are also there but hidden behind the chair. The photograph was officially shared on December 9 on the Royal Family’s X account, captioned “Our family Christmas card for 2023.”
